Karya Binayak Temple

The Karya Binayak Temple, one of the most important temples in Nepal, is dedicated to Ganesh. The view is spectacular from the temple, which is surrounded by trees and large bamboo and overlooks the Bagmati valley to the foothills. Its located Halfway between Bungamati and Khokana. Local pilgrims flock here on Saturdays for a bhoj (feast) and some bhajan (devotional music) – the Newari version of a barbecue and sing along. Bells hanging by devotees Karya Binayak Temple

SINDUR JATRA, BHAKTAPUR, 2015

Another part of Bhaktapur called Balkumari Thimi has very spectacular color festival (Sindur Jatra). Different part of Madhyapur Thimi gather with carrying own chariot in Layeku Thimi. People celebrate and share greeting throwing simrik color powder playing Newari Dhime music.

BISKET JATRA 2015

Bisket Jatra is an annual event in Bhaktapur, Nepal. This festival is celebrated during start of Bikram Sambat New year. According to myth this celebration is the "festival after the death of the serpent". Different part of Bhaktapur city celebrate this festival according to own ritual. Most happening place during festival is Bhaktapur darbar square (Khwopa Layeku), Thimi balkumari, Bodde etc. In Bhaktapur durbar square, a huge chariot carrying a statue of the god Bhairava is pulled by hundreds of people to the Khalna Tole. Approximately a month ago, the chariot is assembled near Nyatapole temple (five stair temple). Most spectacular event on Bhaktapur durbar square is a huge tug of war between eastern and western part of town. Each team try to pull to their side but later the chariot is headed toward Khalna Tole. A huge approximately 25 meters Yohsi (lingo) is erected in the stone called yoni(a female genital) base.

HAPPY DAHI CHUIRA DAY, ASHAR 15

Ashar 15 in Nepal is also called Dahi chuira khane din. In this day the people and farmers of Nepal Plant the paddy crops and after planting paddy crops people get hot and exhausted so they eat Dahi Chuira to get cool. Dahi is a so called typical Nepali Dish and is mostly eatern in the summer season.

On April 25, 2015  with a magnitude of 7.8 M  earthquake hit Nepal  killed more than 9,000 people and injured more than 23,000. It occurred at  11:56 NST.  It was the worst natural disaster to strike  Nepal  since the  1934 earthquake . Hundreds of thousands of people were made homeless with entire villages flattened, across many districts of the country. Centuries-old buildings were destroyed at UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley, including some at the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Patan Durbar Square, the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the Changu Narayan Temple and the Swayambhunath Stupa.
